Dr Nancy Peters

MBBS, MHLM, FRANZCOG

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr Nancy Peters is an Australian-trained obstetrician and gynaecologist, and minimally invasive (keyhole) laparoscopic gynaecological surgeon providing evidence-based care for women across the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas.

Nancy completed her medical degree and specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training in Australia and has more than a decade of obstetric and gynaecological experience caring for women across all stages of life. She has worked in both public and private hospitals and has spent the past several years practising as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist.

She provides comprehensive care across obstetrics (pregnancy), gynaecology, and minimally invasive (laparoscopic / keyhole) gynaecological surgery, with a particular focus on ensuring women feel heard, informed and supported throughout their care.

Her obstetric care includes both low-risk and high-risk pregnancy management, and she supports women across a range of birth preferences including vaginal birth, caesarean section for maternal choice and maternal-assisted caesarean where appropriate.

Nancy cares for women experiencing a wide range of gynaecological concerns, including heavy or painful periods, endometriosis, fibroids, menopause, abnormal cervical screening (pap smear) results.

She has undertaken additional prestigious fellowship training through the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery (AGES) Accredited Training Program. This advanced two-year training involved dedicated experience in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, hysteroscopy and robotic techniques, allowing Nancy to provide women with modern minimally invasive surgical options where appropriate.

Nancy is known for her clinical expertise and a warm, empathetic and detail-oriented approach. She understands that many women may feel anxious discussing health concerns and believes it is important to take the time to listen carefully, explain options clearly and involve patients in decision-making.

Based in Miranda, Nancy is proud to provide high-quality women’s health care close to home for patients throughout the Sutherland Shire.

Outside of work, Nancy enjoys cooking and food adventures, trying new restaurants, being near the ocean, and getting outdoors in the beautiful Sutherland Shire.

If you are looking for an obstetrician and gynaecologist who combines clinical expertise with kindness, compassion and modern evidence-based care, Nancy would be pleased to support you.

Personal Q&As

After seeing my very first birth as a medical student way back in 2007, I haven’t looked back. Being able to care for women across every stage of their life is an incredible privilege.

My studies and work have taken me across Australia (from Warwick to Wudinna, and many places in between) as well as abroad.

I continue to dedicate my time and energy to staying at the forefront of my field and applying the latest guidelines, evidence and developments to offer the best possible care to patients.

The best operation is the right one for the individual patient. That being said, getting to meet a brand new baby is a thrill that will never get old, so all births are right up there.
